Transportation Update – Hwy 40 Construction
Dear Families,
We want to make you aware of ongoing road construction on Hwy 40 and how it may impact our bus routes.
At this time, we anticipate delays affecting our route to November. Please be aware that afternoon drop-offs in Milner may run slightly later than usual depending on construction delays. We ask that you continue to arrive at your normal pick-up time, as exact delays may vary day to day.
We are currently working on a plan for our morning route to Milner and how to best adjust to these changes. If your student’s bus stop is directly affected, you will be contacted with specific information.
We appreciate your patience as we navigate this over the next few days and work to find the best solution for our students and families. Please note that if your student arrives late to school due to these bus delays, they will not be marked tardy.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Atentamente,
Sincerely,
Transportation Department

As we approach our upcoming CMAS testing window (April 6–April 14), we want to share important information to help ensure a smooth and successful experience for all students.
Testing Schedule by Grade:
3rd Grade: April 6, 7, 8
4th Grade: April 7, 8, 9
5th Grade: April 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15
6th Grade: April 6–8
7th & 8th Grade: April 6–14
CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) is an important assessment that provides valuable information about student learning and helps guide our instruction.
Volunteer Reminder:
To maintain a secure and distraction-free testing environment, parent volunteers will not be allowed in classrooms for grades 3–8 during testing days. We appreciate your understanding and support in helping us maintain testing integrity.
How You Can Support Your Child:
There are several simple ways you can help your child feel confident and prepared:
Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep each night
Provide a healthy breakfast each morning
Make sure your child arrives on time to avoid disruptions
Encourage your child to do their best and stay positive
Avoid scheduling appointments during testing days whenever possible
We are proud of the hard work our students have put in this year and know they are ready to show what they have learned.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support,
Kalee
Principal

Tiger Wall of Fame:
There are many graduates from HHS who have gone on to successful careers, attained unique goals, and/or made significant contributions to the school, community and society in general. These individuals are an inspiration to our current students who are in the process of goal development!
Hayden High School would like to inspire our students by recognizing alumni who have excelled in their chosen field! In doing so, we can prove that being from a small school does not limit your potential for success!
Guidelines:
Nominees, living or deceased, must have attended Hayden High School for at least two years and graduated from Hayden High School. Nominees must have graduated at least 15 years prior to being eligible for consideration.
Nominees must have demonstrated acceptable character, possess positive personality traits, pursued occupations of social responsibility and also have made a significant contribution to society beyond a successful career, and/or have contributed substantially to community service.
Nominees should have made their mark in one of the following areas:
Business/industry/entrepreneur
Entertainment/arts/sports
Service professions (education, politics, law, medicine, research, etc.)
The Process:
Nominations of Hayden High School Alumni will be accepted through April 23rd, and a selection will be made by April 30th.
To nominate a person, the attached application must be completed in its entirety. The applications will be reviewed by a committee of three students of Hayden High School, three current staff members, and three alumni. Upon approval, the ‘Tiger Wall of Fame’ member (or family) will be contacted to confirm acceptance of the award.
Tiger Wall of Fame Nomination Form
The ‘Tiger Wall of Fame’ will be displayed at the Hayden Valley School. Each member of the ‘Tiger Wall of Fame’ will have a photo permanently displayed on a recognition board. We invite community members to join us for a classroom visitation experience at Hayden High School on Thursday, February 12. This opportunity is designed to provide the opportunity to observe teaching and learning across our school, and to strengthen the meaningful connection between our schools and community.
Participants will meet in the Board Room at 8:30 a.m. for a brief orientation. Classroom visits will begin at 9:00 a.m., with opportunities to visit classrooms at 9:00 - 9:25 a.m., 9:30 – 9:55, and during C3 Club time from 10:05–10:25 a.m. We will reconvene in the Board Room at 10:30 for conversation, questions, reflection, and lunch.
This visit will be the first of three school visitation opportunities this year, one at each school. If February 12 does not fit your schedule, please watch for upcoming visitation days at Hayden Middle School and Hayden Valley Elementary School.
Please RSVP to Danielle Campbell at dcampbell@haydenschools.org by February 11 so we can plan accordingly. We also would like to remind you to please bring your government issued ID to be admitted into the school the morning of the visits.
We hope you will consider joining us to see our students and staff in action and to engage in thoughtful dialogue about teaching and learning in Hayden.
Best,
Superintendent,
Eric Owen
