November Letter

Parents/Guardians/Community Members:

We are thrilled to be moving into our new school.  It is with incredible pride that I am writing this month’s letter from the new building. It is just amazing and has brought forward positive energy from our entire staff.  While we had hoped to be able to offer tours to everyone in our community, until COVID restrictions are relaxed, this isn’t an option. So, we have recorded several videos to allow you to ‘see’ the school virtually. These are located on our home page on the website.  Please check them out.  The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be Friday, November 6th at 1:00. The invite is attached.

Homecoming: Student Council has also scheduled homecoming events during the first week of November as we welcome students to the new school.  It will be an exciting week for us. Activities will be shared via postings on ClassTag and Facebook.

Townhall Meeting: We will be hosting our third Parent/Community Town Hall meeting on
November 2nd. The purpose of these meetings is to have an open discussion, answer any questions that people have, and share information. There is not a set agenda; this will be open dialogue. At this point, we are still needing to offer these meetings via Zoom. Our fourth meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, December 9th.
Zoom information for November 2nd:
Meeting ID: 884 5945 7869
Passcode: F5gWj4

Free lunch rest of year: Last week the Federal government allowed for the continuation of providing free lunch to students through June 30, 2021. The U.S. Department of Agriculture nationwide waivers were extended on October 9, 2020 for the Summer Food Service Program. The passage of the continuing resolution by Congress granted authority and funding to extend school meal waivers through June 30, 2021.

FB Schedule:  We are pleased to have had the opportunity to have played three varsity games to date.  Our next home varsity game is Friday, November 6th vs Gilpin County. JV has three games and middle school has four games this season. All games and times are listed on our district calendar.

New Board Member Aden Morrison:  We would like to welcome Aden Morrison as our new Board of Education Member.  Aden was selected after interviews took place on October 19th.  He will complete the term for Medora Fralick who moved out of the area.

With gratitude,

Christy L. Sinner
